Incoloy 800 (N08800) nickel base alloy overview:
The alloy has high chromium content and enough nickel content, so it has high resistance to high temperature corrosion.
In chloride, low concentration NaOH aqueous solution and high temperature and pressure water, it has excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance, so it is used to manufacture equipment for stress corrosion cracking resistance.
Corrosion resistance is better than general austenitic stainless steel and Inconel 600 alloy.
It is also superior to Inconel 600 and Monel 400 alloys in the manufacture of corrosion resistant stress cracking equipment.

As with austenitic stainless steel, the austenitic structure, heat treatment can also be used in the same way as austenitic stainless steel.The commonly available heat treatment methods are as follows.
Annealing 980 ~ 1100℃ quench
Stress relief annealing 780 ~ 870℃ air cooling
The hot working and cooling properties are roughly the same as those of austenitic steel.Thermal processing temperature is 1000 ~ 1230℃, simple processing can be carried out under 850℃.However, cracking will occur in the temperature range of 650 ~ 850℃, please be sure to avoid.The cold machinability is exactly the same as that of austenitic stainless steel, but the work hardening characteristic is slightly lower than that of austenitic stainless steel.
As with standard austenitic stainless steels, TIG welding, MIG welding, and manual arc welding may be used.
High temperature properties
Due to its high Ni and Cr content, it has a high resistance to oxidation and carburizing at high temperature, and its oxidation resistance is better than SUS 310S, even close to NAS 600.The high temperature intensity is basically the same as that of NAS 600.It is widely used in heat resistant materials and does not cause embrittlement during use.
Generally used in the temperature range below 600℃.NAS 800H/NAS 800T is recommended for higher temperatures and creep performance requirements.
It has good corrosion resistance in oxidizing corrosive environment such as nitric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid mixture, and molten salt such as soda salt, and is more sensitive to stress corrosion cracking than standard austenitic stainless steel.
It is widely used in outer sleeve of electric heater, thermocouple protection tube, heat treatment furnace and materials used in high temperature environment.
